Build Your Wardrobe with the Mel Joggers

The Mel joggers are knit pants with a relaxed mid-rise fit, clever elasticized drawstring waistband, cuffs at the hem, and of course—pockets.

Sew them up in medium-weight knits like ponte, French terry, sweatshirt fleece, double knit, and jersey.

Shop for Fabric

In this month's issue, we have an article that's all about sweatshirt fleece, but it's not your only option for fabric.

Like the Rudy hoodie, the Mel joggers can be sewn in many different knits, from lightweight rib knits to a cozy French terry. When picking a fabric, think about sewing the details on the pants—the elasticized drawstring, pockets, and hem cuffs—and choose a knit that works with your skill level.

If you can find matching (or contrasting) rib knit for the cuffs, your joggers will really look like ready-to-wear.
