Block Paper Scissors is a monthly column featuring patternmaking hacks that will help you give your Seamwork patterns a custom spin—all you need is paper, a ruler, and a pencil!

This hack modifies Addison's angular collar into a softer shape for a sweet peter pan collar variation.

Note: Be sure to make any fit adjustments before doing the pattern hack.

You'll Need:

  • Addison under collar and upper collar

  • Tracing paper or pattern paper

  • Pencil

  • Ruler

  • Scissors

  • All other materials as required by pattern

How to:

Print

Step | 01

Trace off the under collar and upper collar pieces. On both pieces, measure 2” in on either side of the collar point and make notches. Draw a curved line connecting the notches.
