After receiving her BFA in classical watercolor painting, Lia Rose has since branched out into other mediums. Time spent researching heritage has revealed a disconnect between the world of fine art and the West African, Eastern European, and Indigenous North American ancestral traditions of making. Seeking connection between ancestors and identity has resulted in learning to weave, sew, quilt, and construct, honoring and utilizing skills of necessity in the process of making art objects and bringing art into the making of everyday utility. Find her on Instagram @liarosestudio.
Lori Caldwell is the former owner/founder of leather goods company, Minnie + George, based in Portland, OR, and an avid maker, sewer, and Seamwork subscriber.
