Hi everyone, I’m Sienna the content producer here at Seamwork. I’m usually behind the camera but because of COVID-19, I’m filming and teaching this class here in my home studio. Even in difficult times it’s super important to nourish your creativity, so take some time for yourself and let me guide you through making a knit t-shirt - the Orlando Top.
Orlando is a knit tee that hugs your body in all the right places. It has a scoop neck and cap sleeves. The neckline is finished with a band and the member bonus version turns it into a perfect bodysuit with snap closures at the crotch. Orlando requires knits with 4-way stretch and good recovery.
In this class I’ll cover some tips for working with knits, like the best needle to use, how to calculate a fabric’s stretch percentage, and how to sew a knit neckband. Plus I’ll walk you through each step to make the Orlando top.
In the next lesson we’ll take a look at fabric and gather our supplies.
