Hi! I’m Haley, the pattern designer here at Seamwork. Welcome to the Let’s Sew Overalls! In this class we will be sewing the Seamwork Beckett overalls.
I love this project because it has that perfect balance of familiar, foundational sewing and skill building techniques.
These overalls have a relaxed fit with a seam that hits at the natural waist, plus a straight leg. You’ll learn to sew details like the lined top, side seam button placket, and patch pockets. I’ll also show you how to install the grommets that create the cool tied strap detail.
And best of all at the end, you’ll have a pair of overalls that you can wear with pride. If you love this style as much as I do, make sure you also check out the article in the August issue of Seamwork that shares all about the history of overalls.
Ready to jump in? In the next lesson I am going to walk you through the fabrics and supplies.
