Contributors & Staff

Meet the writers, makers, and artists from this month’s issue.

Writers

Christi Johnson

Christi Johnson is a textile artist who combines cosmic visions expressed through embroidery with natural dyes, creating a hypnotic dance of symbols stitched slowly and methodically into botanically infused fibers. She works from the belief that through creating with textiles, our most intimate of personal belongings, we recognize our powers of transformation in all areas of life. Visit Christi at Mixed Color.

Farrah Dodson

As the Graphic Designer here at Seamwork HQ, Farrah helps us capture the magic of sewing through graphic design, creating our brand identity and making sure that each issue of Seamwork looks perfect.

Haley Glenn

Haley doesn’t just want to design clothing you’ll love to wear, but clothing you’ll love to sew. With a background in both design and teaching, she combines her talents to imagine patterns with thoughtful details that build your skills as you sew.

Meg Stively

Meg is here to help you get excited about sewing. As the managing editor for Seamwork and the smiling face behind emails and social media, she loves seeing what you’re making with our patterns.

Riley Smith

Riley is a sewing fanatic and lit-nerd. She wants to sew, knit, read, and write her way through life. She hopes to join others in the magic of creative expression and share her love of stories and sewing. You can follow her journey on Instagram @sewitsmeriley.

Robin Liu

Robin is an architect and designer who lives in New York City. She loves making things. You can find her at her blog Liusends.com and on Instagram @liusends.

Tino Motloung

Tino is based in Joburg, South Africa, but she’s a well-seasoned traveler who has recently found her new love in sewing. A lover of all things stars, a runner, and a product development manager in aviation for her 9 to 5, she’s also a Seamwork Ambassador and loves working with Ankara fabric. Find Tino’s projects on Instagram @sewstartino or her blog Sew Star Tino.

Wallis Smith-Owens

Wallis is a patternmaker here at Seamwork, and she loves to see what you make from the patterns she drafts. When she’s not sewing, she’s fostering dogs, so you’ll most likely find her running around with her rescue golden retriever and gang of foster pups.
