We know that this month's issue has a lot of meaning to a lot of people. Unfortunately, the chances are that breast cancer has touched your life in one way or another, whether you are fighting your own battle, are a survivor, know someone who is, or have lost someone. According to the Center for Disease Control, 12.4% of women in the United States will develop breast cancer throughout her lifetime. This makes breast cancer the most common cancer among women, only second to skin cancer.
We felt we couldn't let Breast Cancer Awareness Month pass by without trying to make a small impact by donating to breast cancer research. So, we want to share that feeling with our members and work towards a shared goal!
Help us raise $1500 by simply downloading this months issue PDF, and we will donate 50 cents per download of the October issue.

Other ways to give back
Aside from raising money, there are other ways you can make a positive impact. Through the National Breast Cancer Foundation, you can volunteer your time by helping pack Hope Kits for people in treatment, pack breast health kits, or write encouraging cards.
Don’t forget
Make self-breast exams a part of your monthly routine. If you need more information on how to do this simple exam at home go here.
Let's talk about it
This month's issue of Seamwork honors and celebrates the bust. But this topic is heavy for a lot of people. You can always turn to your community of fellow sewists for compassion and support. The Seamwork community is a safe place.
