Jackets, coats, and scarves, oh my!
It's that time of year again—at least in the northern hemisphere—when we dig through our closets and try and remember what our outerwear from the year before looked like and hope that it still fits. Each year, I have a little bit of regret inside me that I didn't spend more time planning and sewing a more involved project to make the perfect jacket or coat that I know I'll love this coming fall and winter seasons.
Sewing your own outerwear can be fun, rewarding, and a whole lotta work! It has always intimidated me. But as I look around at the sewing community, I see sewists conquer amazing jackets and coats, and it really inspires me to give it a try!
The Challenge
This month, we challenge you to make an outerwear piece. Outerwear can mean different things to people, so we want to open this up to YOUR interpretation of an outerwear piece. You can use any pattern you'd like. We want you to have fun, feel part of a community, and be encouraged to make something you'll be proud of.

To start this challenge, I want to share a list of pattern ideas and some of my favorite outerwear projects.
