Ruby on Rails Developer (contract)
Colette Media is looking for a contract Ruby on Rails developer for an ongoing relationship.
What we need
We run a Ruby on Rails application on a single virtual server. We are looking for someone to help out with backend development as needed; we don't need a developer on retainer or willing to dedicate a set number of hours per week, but rather someone who can jump in once in a while as needed for specific projects. These projects might include:
- Developing of new features in Ruby and JavaScript
- Third-party API integrations
- Troubleshooting performance problems
- Bug fixes
Who you are
We're would prefer to work with an individual freelancer but may consider contracting with an development agency. You or your company will be perfect for this work if:
- You have experience with Rails and JavaScript
- You can write basic HTML/ERB templates
- You can communicate clearly via email and our issue tracker
- You can write clear, well-commented code that is easy to read, understand, and maintain
- You can write clear and useful commit notes for our version control system
- Your code is efficient, accessible, and optimized for performance
- It would be nice if you are located in Oregon, but we’re open to working with someone elsewhere in the US
Technology we're using
You'll need to be familiar with (or able to quickly pick up) the following:
- Ruby on Rails
- Devise
- JavaScript / jQuery
- Braintree or similar payment processing
- MariaDB
- Elasticsearch
- Subversion
- Capistrano
