Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

Chevron Yoke Blouse

Cypress is a feminine blouse with an easy silhouette and thoughtful details that give it a timeless feel. Designed with a straight, slightly A-line cut, Cypress has a clean, uncomplicated silhouette that lets its shaped yoke and delicate closures take center stage.

The chevron-shaped front yoke creates a striking geometric line across the bodice, balanced by a straight-cut back yoke. Both yokes are fully lined for a polished finish. The high, round neckline features a center front notch, finished with shank buttons and loop closures for a subtle vintage-inspired touch.

Full-length sleeves gather into narrow binding at the wrists, adding soft volume and a gently shaped finish. A classic double-fold hem completes the blouse with a clean edge.

Pair Cypress with tailored trousers or jeans for an everyday look, or tuck it into a flowing skirt for something a little more dressed up. Sew it in crisp cotton, fluid rayon, or a delicate print to bring out a different side of its design.

Fabric & Supplies

Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as shirting, chambray, linen, linen blends, flannel, lawn, voile, rayon challis, rayon crepe, Tencel, poplin, Tencel twill, and silk crepe.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, all-purpose sewing machine needle, hand sewing needle, 1/4 yard (.2 meter) 1/2" (13 mm) double-fold bias tape, and three 3/8" (10 mm) shank buttons.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

00 – 30

Sizing & Fit

Chloe is wearing a size 2 Cypress blouse. We added 5/8" to the yoke height and 1" to the sleeve length. Her measurements are bust: 33 1/2" (85.1 cm), waist: 27 1/4" (69.2 cm), hip: 37 1/2" (95.3 cm), and she is 5'9" (175.3 cm) tall.

Crosby is wearing the Cypress blouse in a size 20. We added 1/2" to the body length and 1" to the sleeve length. Her measurements are bust: 48" (121.9 cm), waist: 40" (101.6 cm), hip: 51.5" (130.8 cm), and she is 5'10" (177.8 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
