Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Slim Cut Midi Dress

Fabric & Supplies

Lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton lawn, cotton eyelet, cotton gauze, chambray, gingham, Swiss dot, linen, linen blends, rayon challis, rayon crepe, and silk.

All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, twelve 3/8" (10 mm) shank buttons (sizes 00 - 18); nine 3/8" (10 mm) shank buttons (sizes 12 - 30), 1 1/8 yards (1 meter) 1/2" (13 mm) single fold bias tape.

Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

Sizing & Fit

Ilisa is wearing the Lilac dress in a size 2, graded to a 0 at the waist and a 6 at the hip. We moved the bodice seam 3/4" lower and added 1" to the skirt length above the slit.Her measurements are bust: 34" (86.4 cm), waist: 25" (63.5 cm), hip:38 1/2" (97.8 cm), and she is 5'9" (175.3 cm) tall.

Morgan is wearing a size 20 Lilac dress with no adjustments. Her measurements are bust: 48" (122 cm), waist: 41" (104 cm), hip: 52" (132 cm), and she is 5' 9" (175.25 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
