Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

The modern lined vest sewing pattern

Introducing Otto, a lined vest with a timeless straight cut and modern details. It features a V-neckline, a shaped hem, and three buttons on the center front. Princess seams ensure a comfortable silhouette, and topstitching along the neckline, center front, and hemline adds subtle detail.

Otto is the perfect layer for a touch of sophistication. Sew it up in wovens like linen, denim, suiting, or corduroy, and find a fun lining. Wear it over a crisp shirt for a sophisticated office look, or pair it with a casual blouse for weekend outings.

Janiah wears a size 2 graded to a 4 at the high hip. Her measurements are 33" (83.8 cm), 26 1/4" (66.7 cm), 37 1/2" (95.3 cm) and she is 5'7" (170cm).

Morgan is wearing a size 20 Otto vest. Her measurements are B: 48" (122 cm) W: 41" (104 cm) H: 52" (132 cm) , and she is 5'9" (175 cm) tall.

00 – 30

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
