Alexia Abegg is a multi-faceted creator. She works in ceramics, textiles, block printing, and designs fabric for Ruby Star Society. Her background includes pattern design for Lotta Jansdotter’s book, Everyday Sewing, running a pattern company and sewing studio, and sewing everything from evening wear to costumes in the entertainment industry.

We spoke to Alexia about how she fell in love with ceramics, and how it changed her perspective as a textile designer and artist. You’ll hear why Alexia believes you need to give yourself permission to have all the hobbies, and how many of these creative practices connect and enrich our lives.
