The Birch Trousers are inspired by classic tailoring and modern comfort. Designed to move with you, they blend a relaxed wide-leg silhouette with thoughtful details like front pintucks, slash pockets, and a smooth flat-front waistband. Perfect for everyday wear or elevated casual looks, Birch balances structure with ease, offering a stylish, approachable sewing project that you’ll reach for again and again.

The Birch Trousers are semi-fitted through the hips with a wide-leg cut for effortless drape. Front pintucks add crisp definition, while slash pockets and a deep double-fold hem provide functional, polished finishes. The flat-front waistband keeps the silhouette smooth, and the elastic back ensures all-day comfort. Clustered belt loops allow for belt styling to customize the look.

FABRIC AND FIT

Fabric recommendations:

Medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, chambray, cotton twill, denim, Tencel, or light wool blends work beautifully for Birch. Look for fabrics with a bit of drape but enough body to hold the wide-leg silhouette.

Lightweight denim and cotton twills will give structure without stiffness, while Tencel and linen blends create elegant movement. Avoid overly stiff fabrics that can create unneccesary bulk at the back waistband.
