Build Your Wardrobe with the Jo Dress

The Jo dress is an oversized, popover shirtdress with fun gathers below the front and back yokes. It features a band collar, partial placket, and a comfortable cocoon silhouette.

This dress moves best in your favorite flowy wovens, like Tencel, rayon challis, voile, lawn, or silk crepe. Or, pick a medium-weight woven for a more dramatic silhouette, like flannel or chambray.

Skye is wearing a size 2 Jo dress graded to a 4 at the hip, with 5 1/2” added to the length and 2” added to the sleeves. Her measurements are 33 3/4”, 27”, 38 1/2” and she is 5’9”.

Shop for Fabric

The Jo dress has plenty of design ease, so when you pick a fabric, keep in mind that it will fit loose. Think about the silhouette you’d like and how you want the fabric to fall on your body.

For a more floaty, breezy silhouette, pick a lightweight woven like lawn, voile, rayon challis, or silk crepe.

For a little more body, pick a medium weight woven like Tencel, shirting, or chambray. To add a little warmth in colder weather, choose flannel.
