Fabric & Fit
Fabrics to shop: Look for lightweight or medium-weight woven fabrics such as shirting, chambray, linen, linen blends, flannel, lawn, voile, rayon challis, rayon crepe, Tencel, Tencel twill, poplin, and silk crepe.
If you choose a fabric with a lot of drape, like Tencel or rayon, your shirt will cling more to your body and the pockets will open up more. If you choose a fabric with less drape, you’ll get a more structured silhouette.
Fabrics to avoid: This button-down works with so many fabrics, but it’s best to avoid anything too lightweight or too heavy. Heavy denim and canvas will create a very boxy, oversized silhouette.
