The Lito dress is inspired by a classic ringer tee, with a little bit of a retro vibe. It has a relaxed fit, and it’s as simple to sew as it is to wear.
This dress sews best in knits with good recovery, like jersey, merino, rib knit, and French terry. The neck and sleeve bands are perfect for a pop of contrasting ribbing.
Krystal is wearing a size 10 Lito dress, lengthened by 1” with 1/2” added to the sleeves. Her measurements are 38 1/2”, 32”, 41 1/2” and she is 5’9”.
Shop for Fabric
When shopping for knits for your Lito dress, the most important thing to consider is recovery. Since Lito is fitted at the chest and has ribbing on the neck and arms, you want a knit with good recovery that won’t stretch out or bag.
For the ribbing, make sure that it is not much heavier than your main fabric, or it can warp your neckline. Try to match the weight of your main fabric as much as possible.
Look for knits like jersey, merino, rib knit, or French terry.
