Meet the Roan Button-down Tunic

Whether you're looking for a comfy and casual look or a stylish statement piece, this pattern has got you covered (literally). Roan is an oversized button-down tunic with a bunch of details that add a touch of sophistication and a loose fit that ensures maximum comfort. It has dropped shoulders, a two-piece button-down collar, a sewn-on button placket, cuffs, and two oversized chest patch pockets. You'll also find a seam at the center back, a curved hemline, and a button on the back collar. All these details will help you grow your sewing skills while you make something you'll want to wear every day.

Fabric & Fit

Fabrics to shop: Look for lightweight or medium-weight woven fabrics such as shirting, chambray, linen, linen blends, flannel, lawn, voile, rayon challis, rayon crepe, Tencel, Tencel twill, poplin, and silk crepe.

If you choose a fabric with a lot of drape, like Tencel or rayon, your shirt will cling more to your body and the pockets will open up more. If you choose a fabric with less drape, you’ll get a more structured silhouette.

Fabrics to avoid: This button-down works with so many fabrics, but it’s best to avoid anything too lightweight or too heavy. Heavy denim and canvas will create a very boxy, oversized silhouette.

Meet the Del Jumpsuit

Introducing the ultimate sewing pattern for the fashion-forward trendsetter: the Del jumpsuit! This wide-legged jumpsuit has elasticized gathered straps, a V-neckline at the front, and a scoop neck at the back. Patch pockets cross the side seams, and the neckline and armholes are finished with an all-in-one facing.

This pattern is perfect for making a statement while staying comfortable and stylish. The wide-legged silhouette will make you feel like you're walking on clouds, while the elasticized gathered straps ensure the perfect fit every time. Plus, this jumpsuit is versatile enough to dress up or down, depending on the occasion.

Fabric & Fit

Fabrics to shop: Look for medium-weight woven fabrics such as linen, linen blends, double gauze, Tencel, rayon, or Cupro.

Fabrics to avoid: Avoid lightweight fabrics that don’t have drape, like lawn or voile. Similarly, avoid heavyweight fabrics that might be too stiff, such as canvas.
