Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

Description

This bonus variation is designed to be used alongside the original Pearl pattern, which you’ll need to complete your garment.

This bonus variation gives Pearl an even more romantic feel. The sleeves are lengthened to a breezy 3/4 length and gathered into cuffs for added volume and movement, while a gathered hem ruffle transforms the silhouette into an effortless midi dress.

All of the original details remain the same, including the relaxed fit, adjustable drawstring neckline, and delicate keyhole opening at the center front. The result is a version of Pearl that feels a little more elevated while still remaining effortless and beginner friendly.

Whether paired with sandals in warmer months or layered with boots and sweaters as the seasons change, this variation is designed to be worn again and again.

Sizes 00-18 (Misses) are drafted for a C cup. Our size 8 fit model is 5’8”. Sizes 12-30 (Curvy) are drafted for a DD cup. Our size 20 fit model is 5’9”. Learn more about our sizing here
