Your Biggest Challenge
The Stress Paradox
In talking to thousands of members in our community, we’ve found that Busy Enthusiasts like you have a pretty common problem, which we’ll call The Stress Paradox.
When we feel busy and stressed out, what is the first thing to fly out the window? Chances are, it’s “optional” activities that we do to take care of ourselves, whether that’s daily exercise, a morning meditation, reading books for pleasure, or engaging with a creative hobby that means something to us.
The paradox is that the time when we feel too busy to take care of ourslves is the also time when we need these nourishing activities the most. We tend to put ourselves last, which can lead to more stress, frustration, and even burnout.
You may not feel stressed all the time, and when things are going well, you love sewing! But those times when you’re stuck in the Stress Paradox, you might:
You Might:
- Feel like you can’t possibly spend more time on creativity.
- Get overwhelmed by competing priorities.
- Begin to feel that things you once enjoyed are simply one more thing you “should” do.
- Feel stuck or have difficulty starting.
- Have a sense of heaviness around sewing, even though you love it.
Where to Start
To break out of the Stress Paradox, it’s important to make it easy on yourself. Let sewing and creativity feel good again. Even if you’re not currently stressed but just feeling very full and busy, choosing some easy, fun projects that you can wear soon is a great way to sustain your energy.
