Your Biggest Challenge
The Individuality Issue
In talking to thousands of members in our community, we’ve found that Intentional Fitters like you have a pretty common problem, which we’ll call The Individuality Issue.
Individuality is what makes people beautiful, and building clothing around that is one of the joys of sewing.
It’s also a challenge. Our bodies are really complex. Taking a two dimensional piece of fabric and making it fit our forms in a way that feels right is part art and part science. On top of the fact that we are each physically different, we all have different fit preferences and styles.
In other words, there’s no one-size-fits-all (ha!) approach for fit. Each person is different, so learning to fit your body should ideally be an individualized experience.
When you’re stuck in the complexity of fit, you might:
- Have difficulty choosing the right size to sew.
- Not quite know how to fix wrinkles, sagging, tightness, and other issues you notice.
- Feel confused about how to apply fitting fixes you learn about to your specific situation.
- Sometimes feel judgmental towards your body for not fitting into clothing.
Where to Start
We’d love to help you address the Individuality Issue by first focusing on your approach to fit. Instead of taking fit fixes one at a time, you can create a framework for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and solving issues with a tried-and-true process. With that foundation, you can experiment to systematically understand your own body and preferences.
