In talking to thousands of members in our community, we’ve found that Fabric Focused Makers like you have a pretty common problem, which we’ll call The Fabric Gap.
Choosing the right fabric can often feel like guesswork. You may be limited in the types of fabrics you can find locally, but shopping online is difficult as well – how do you know what the fabric will look, feel, and wear like?
You are curious and want to learn, but you want to do it without the expense (in time and money) of multiple failures.

Where to Start
To address the Fabric Gap, the next best thing to years of experimentation with fabric is learning about the fabric choices of others. By seeing a garment from initial fabric to completion, and learning why that fabric was chosen, you can begin to understand the properties you should look for to get a particular look (and why).
